Michael Parks, by the way, has joined the cast as the French Canadian coach of Buddy’s first pro team. Here’s hoping that Parks breaks out the ‘ol “Twin Peaks” Jean Renault accent for that one. Anyone catch the Peaks reference on Fringe this week, by the way? Gotta love the “Twin Peaks” faithful out there.

Kevin would also love to bring John Goodman on board as buddy’s very first coach, too. And yes, Melissa Leo would also be welcomed to the cast if she’s available.

It certainly seems like the director’s making good on his promise to move on, Eastwood-style from one project to the next — Just as the world gets a glimpse of “Red State”, plans are already underway for the next one, and yet another right turn in genre and content. We’re loving what’s happening in 2011 so far and now have 2012 planned as another banner year for Smith and co — And we’re not even out of January yet.
