Clerks III – The Beginning of the End

Look like Kev’s started the first draft of Clerks III. Over on Facebook he had this to say about what might be his best “FILM” (perhaps adding fuel to the fire that a film might still be in the works over the book project we’ve heard about recently):

Obviously, with the reveal that “Hit Somebody” would be the last ever directorial effort from Kevin before retirement, many were left scratching their heads, wondering if a Clerks III/3 would ever see the light. Rather than speculate, here’s the writer/director himself on that possibility:

You gotta love when a single line in a press release or story can set off a huge cascading bunch of rumors on the web. Thank goodness, Kevin steps forward to set things straight. Variety recently ran a story titled “Miramax, Weinstein Co. pact for sequels” in which the “Clerks” franchise was named, among a group of other films, which were part of the back catalog and could potentially be leveraged for use in future projects.
